Miss Serena Forcot and Lord Julian Montague have been friends for as long as they can remember and for most of that time, Julian has been in love with her, something Serena seems completely oblivious to. Now that Julian has been elected into the House of Commons and is becoming noticed in Parliament, the Prime Minister, Lord Grenville has taken notice of him and hinted that he should marry. But there is only one woman who he would even consider and she has no idea he loves her. How can he get Serena to see him as a man and not just her friend? Desperate for help, he asks his sister, Lady Courtney for advice and soon has Serena’s complete attention.

It seems like things are finally going in the right direction, but a matchmaking Prime Minister and Serena’s impulsive nature may ruin their HEA before it even starts unless she can find a way to make things right and save the only man she will ever love.

What a fun introduction to a new series! Ms. Evans not only introduces the reader to all the members of the Sisterhood of Scandal, but she also manages to write a very delightful and fleshed-out romance that never feels rushed or lost in the setup of the series. This story has a lot of emotion, a bit of heartache, jealousy, betrayal, friends who save the day, steamyish love scenes, forgiveness, sacrifice, new beginnings, and a sweet HEA. This novella was a great start to a new series and I am happy to recommend it.

Release Date: July 12, 2022

Two months after marrying Crispin, Ruby is still having a hard time fitting into her new role as Queen of Meradin, especially since she hasn’t seen Crispin since their wedding day. And her stress and worry increase when her maid Ivy says she believes Ruby is pregnant. Upset and feeling lonely, she leaves the castle to visit her adoptive mother and finds her at the monastery with her friend Brother James. She is on her way back to the castle when Crispin finds her and escorts her home.

Crispin has been searching for answers about Ruby’s past and the murder of her parents, but after two months and no answers, he was eager to get back to his bride. But his reunion is not what he expected and he cannot understand why Ruby seems to have hardened her heart against him, yet seemed so comfortable with Brother James, irked and jealous, he sends Henry to investigate the monk and ends up getting the shock of his life when Henry uncovers the badly scarred monk’s true identity!

What follows is an incredibly well-written tale of shocking revelations, secrets, betrayal, steamy love scenes, sigh-inducing love, heartache, and ending with a cliffhanger that leaves the reader desperate for the next installment! Seriously, I cannot even remember the last time I was so invested in a series – seriously, this series has been amazing and I cannot wait for the final installment! This story picks up where the last book ended, so I would strongly suggest reading “His Wicked Whispers” which is the first book in the Prince of Whispers series, before reading this book as it is an ongoing serial intended to be read in order.
